give. || This. just. happened.

Well after another hiatus, I'm back to update you on my latest adventure... donating my hair.

I'd first like to take a moment of silence to reminisce on some of my favorite long-hair-don't-care looks. *silence*

The very last picture of my long flowing locks... (feel free to join in shedding a tear with me)

There was no turning back (apologizing in advance for the poor quality of the 'during' pics)...

I had enough hair for two of 12 inch ponytails!!! I was so excited to be able to donate my hair to Wigs for Kids and check off another Journey for 30 item!

Now for the final look...

After having a couple of days to reflect, short hair is definitely not for me. It requires me to actually do my hair on the daily, which for those who know me, is quite a struggle. However, total time to do my hair still probably takes less time than it did for me to blow dry it before. I did want to donate my hair and for that reason I'm so happy I chopped it off! I just can't wait for it to grow back now :) How many of you have donated your hair? Who did you donate to?

Until my next adventure,

review. || #RefreshVoxBox

It's time for another VoxBox review! This time I received the #RefreshVoxBox compliments of Influenster right at the end of February. I've been trying out all these great products over the last month and can't wait to share what I love, like and can do without.

Contents:

Beanitos Chips- White Bean Sea Salt & Nacho Cheese

Covergirl UltraSmooth Foundation in 820 Creamy Natural

Skinny Girl Nutrition Bar- Banana Oatmeal Dark Chocolate

Orgain Organic Nutritional Shake- Strawberries & Cream

DenTek Flossers- Fun Flossers & Comfort Clean Floss Pics

I had a grand time with my Montagne Jeunesse masque. I waited until the weather warmed up to try this product out. I wanted to get as much dry old winter skin off as possible. The smell was unique but bearable. I left my masque on for about 30 minutes (recommends 15-20 minutes). I was a bit skeptical about the "peel-off" part since a lot of masks claim to have this quality and it usually is an epic fail. As you can see below, it peeled off in one piece! My skin felt extra soft and smooth afterwards, which is exactly what you have in mind when applying a mask to your face/body!

I've added L'OCCITANE Shea Butter Light Comforting Cream to my nightly routine and was great asset to making my skin feel moisturized in the morning. The cream is very thick and a little goes a long way. I'm not sure I'd purchase more of this product. I didn't fall in love with it, like I have other moisturizers and I don't live close to a store and their website has not been user friendly when I have accessed it to write a review. Feeling 'meh' after trying this product.

My new favorite chip!!! I typically don't like beans, I'm very weird about eating chili, Mexican food or anything else with beans as a main ingredient. I was open-minded when trying Beanitos White Bean with Sea Salt chips and they did not disappoint. They have a texture similar to a regular potato chip and they tasted great with my homemade salsa. And bonus, they're gluten-free!! I will be purchasing a lot more of this product!

I'm not much of a shake drinker and I don't typically drink much milk, so this next product wasn't an instant hit. I decided for the Orgain Organic Nutritional Shake in Strawberries & Cream which I picked up at my local health foods store. I was excited that this product was also gluten-free but not loving the fact that it had milk in it. Orgain does offer vegan products, they were just not carried at my local store. Overall this product was not as bad as I thought it would be, it wasn't gritty like some protien products tend to be and the milk did not bother my stomach. If I ever got on board with drinking shakes, this is one I would definitely go back to.

Well I've been obsessed with everything Skinnygirl for sometime now! I'd actually tried another flavor of these tasty nutrition bars that had been gifted to me at Christmas. I'm sure you can tell a theme by now, but these are gluten-free as well! I eat them for a mid-morning or afternoon snack all the time! Definitely love this product and will continue to buy a lot more of it and other flavors in the future!

We all have the best of intentions when it comes to flossing, well at least I hope that's high on your priority list. These DenTek Comfort Clean Floss Picks & Fun Flossers have made flossing so much more convenient. I went to the dentist not long after mixing these into my routine and was complimented on how good my teeth were doing. I used to think they were a waste of money when I would see them at the store because you can buy a roll of floss for about 1/3 the price of a package of Floss Picks but if you're not using your floss, what good is it to purchase it? I have now changed my thought process and will purchase items that may not be the most frugal but will help keep me focused on a goal. This goal happens to be keeping my teeth in my mouth for as long as possible and having health gums, making this product well worth every penny!

I normally post before and after pictures when trying make-up especially foundation, unfortunately, you wouldn't be able to see the difference. I have tried my Covergirl UltraSmooth foundation with the applicator and wasn't impressed with the results. I wasn't feeling the applicator or it's purpose, because in my attempts, it seemed to make my application process more messy and not smooth at all. I like to think I'm good at following directions but there were not a lot of directions to follow on the packaging. The jury is still out overall on this product, I will continue to work with it and see if I can figure out some tricks. Look for a future post with before and after pictures.

I always love receiving a VoxBox especially when it involves products to pamper yourself! Overall I loved this VoxBox and am looking forward to reviewing more products in the future. I can't forget to mention that all the products I received were compliments of  Influenster and at no cost to me. While I did receive these products free, all views expressed in this post are solely my own.

Have you tried any of these products? What do you like? Dislike?

explore. || Fan Friday

When the St. Louis Cardinals schedule was released and Opening Day was versus the Chicago Cubs, I knew I had to be there. Unfortunately, no one shared the same sentiments. What's a girl to do? Create a Journey to 30 list and make plans to head to Chicago.

First I needed to get ready so I went to see my favorite nail tech Henry at Forever French- Wichita, KS. I can't get over how amazing they turned out.

With my nails out of the way, I needed something to wear the night of the game. Since Opening Night happened on Easter Sunday Night, I obviously needed my high socks #highsockSunday. (you may need to be a Cardinals fan to get that one), My necklace was gifted to me at Christmas and has a cardinal and baseball charm inside and I'm convinced is my good luck charm for the 2015 Season!

After attending church, and checking out DMK Burger Bar featured on Diner's, Drive-Ins & Dives, I finally arrived at Wrigley Field, for my very first time!! - Think Christmas morning and getting everything  you asked for, that is about how it felt to be at Wrigley Field for the first time. I plan to take in a game at every MLB stadium before I die, checking this stadium off my list on Opening Night at a place with such rich baseball history was definitely worth going to the game by myself!

As you can see from the picture above, I arrived right when the gates opened. I was able to watch the last part of the Cubs batting practice and all of the Cardinals batting practice, PURE JOY!

As you can see I didn't stick with the original outfit I picked out, the forecast called for the temperature to dip so I decided for the long-sleeves red (my other good luck charm). It ended up dropping A LOT and I was bundled up, with hand-warmers sans gloves and the nice woman next to me was kind enough to share her blanket. I managed not to melt, even though it was Cubs blanket.

Oh, and bonus, Fall Out Boy performed. Concert and Opening Night, yes please.

The Cardinals won and all was right for the night! I had an amazing trip and I'm so glad I checked something else off my Journey to 30! I'll leave with a few thoughts to ponder that have baffled me before, during and after my solo trip. I don't know why some find it so hard to believe girls can travel alone...even to a city. I don't know why if you want to do something, you don't just do it. I don't know why it's so hard to believe that a girl can love sports so much. Tell me your thoughts, does anyone else run into people not understanding your independence or uniqueness?

Wishing you all a happy baseball season & as always GO CARDS!!!!

Valentine's Day weekend

While my life has been a little hectic lately, I have been planning this post for quite sometime, just couldn't find time to actually get it all put together. While Valentine's Day has been here and long gone, I'm not giving up on my mission to get this blog up and running and I've decided no matter how late I am going to get it posted. :)

I find the need to celebrate for just about anything, tell me it's a holiday and I'll find a way to get festive and celebrate! So here is how I spent my Single Girl Valentine's Day Weekend...

First, I fell in love with this Valentine's Day limited edition The Light Blonde 'Lovers Gonna Love' tee. So I decided to take Friday to pamper myself with a facial and do my make-up and take some pictures. Here are my favorites...

Journey to 30

I have every intention of posting this on Wednesday January 21 (my actual birth day), however my day didn't go as planned, and this happened. Needless to say I'm happy to just be alive and grateful for all my experiences I've had in my first 29 years of life and I've made a list of this I hope to accomplish this year on my Journey to 30! I hope you can follow along as I share my fun throughout my journey.

Christmas Vacation Recap

I wanted to blog throughout my Christmas break but an unexpected hand surgery, didn't allow me the freedom to type without great frustration and pain. However, I'm finally sitting down to share a few of my favorite moments. I got to kick it off but taking some time for myself and getting all glammed up for a night out looking at Christmas lights on a party bus followed by going to see my favorite comedian Kevin Hart.

Hair by Amanda Ritchey

All put together enjoying the night

I am huge sports fan and make it a point to go to as many sporting events a possible. I already had Vegas lined up for NYE 2015 but found time to squeeze in a quick road trip from Kansas to Dallas to watch the Lakers take on the Mavericks sans Kobe.  While it didn't ruin my entire trip, it did throw off my plans I had to wear my Kobe throwback jersey and have him sign it. Looks like I go to another game and try again for that autograph.

Here a few pics from the game.

As far as Vegas goes... we all know what happens there, stays there.

Unitl next time,
